Get on Top is a quick and chaotic two-player fighting game that turns simple wrestling into a hilarious test of balance and reflexes. The objective of this oddball little game, which was made by independent developer Bennett Foddy, is to make sure your friend's head touches the ground before yours does. First to reach 11 points takes the victory and all the bragging rights that come with it.
Each round only lasts a few seconds, but don’t be fooled — that’s where the fun lies. As soon as you both lock in, it becomes a tug-of-war of shoves, pulls, and awkward flips. Your fighter's neck will hit the ground with one poor move, and your friend will laugh triumphantly.
Unlike more complicated fighting games, Get on Top doesn’t overload you with combos or special moves. Instead, it relies on pure timing, quick reactions, and a little bit of mind-reading. Matches are fast, funny, and so easy to replay over and over.
It couldn’t be simpler to start. All you have to do is head over to agargame.io and launch Get on Top right in your browser. No installs, no sign-ups — just jump in and challenge someone sitting next to you.
Here’s how it works:
Pick your side: Player 1 will use the W, A, S, and D keys on the keyboard. Player 2 takes the arrow keys.
Move smart: If you’re Player 1, use W to tilt your wrestler forward or jump upward, S to lean back, A to pull your rival closer, and D to push them away. If you’re Player 2, the up arrow works like W, down arrow like S, left arrow pulls, and the right arrow pushes.
Score a takedown: Your goal is to slam your opponent’s head or back on the floor. You'll get a point if you do it before they do it to you.
Race to 11: The first player to 11 points wins the match. And like most people, you'll hit restart right away and start over.
It may seem simple to win, but it requires more than just randomly punching buttons to stay on top. Try these simple tricks next time you play:
Be unpredictable: Mix up your pushes and pulls so your opponent can’t guess what you’ll do next.
Stay low when needed: Sometimes leaning backward keeps you safe from a sudden slam.
Strike fast: Surprise moves can flip the round in seconds — don’t hesitate too long!
Laugh it off: Half the fun is the chaos. Expect plenty of ridiculous falls and unexpected flips.
Bennett Foddy, the mind behind Get on Top, is famous for creating games that make simple actions surprisingly tricky — like the viral hit QWOP or the rage-inducing Getting Over It. This game may be simple, but it’s packed with that same signature awkwardness that makes every match so unpredictable.
